For the Elements world to be able to return to you, re-imagined, year after year, we need to exist in harmony with our ecosystem. This means more than just adopting sustainable practices. We are committed to building on our initiatives so that each year we come away with better results than the last. While minimising environmental impact is important, we’re going a step further by working to create a positive effect on our local ecosystem. To achieve this goal, we have amped up our environmental initiatives for Elements Festival 2024. We hope you’re keen to join us on our quest! With the help of our Elemental tribe, we’re already making a powerful difference. And the beauty of it is that you get to see the impact you’re having as the festival site flourishes year after year. Environment
Elements is all about recycling, reusing, and reimagining at every step to ensure we’re respecting our planet and the resources she provides. The beauty of this environment-first approach is that it inspires us to think creatively instead of just taking the easy way out.
Infrastructure
Every material that goes into the Elements Festival build is sourced with sustainability in mind. After each year’s event, we carefully deconstruct every element and then get to work coming up with new ways to arrange the pieces. This allows us to build a fresh, new world for you year after year with minimal waste and maximal care for the beautiful land we call home.
Waste Management
We give every Elemental 2 rubbish bags on arrival – one for General Waste and one for Recycling. You’ll also get to meet our roving Earth Warriors, who’ll stop by your campsite from time to time, collecting rubbish, handing out new bin bags, and having a good old-fashioned chin-wag if you’re up for it. If you don’t feel like waiting, you can also leave your full rubbish bags at one of the Helper Huts in the campgrounds.Thanks to our Earth Warriors & B-Alternative for spearheading our waste management efforts!
ReWash Revolution
Launched in 2021, the Elements Festival ReWash Revolution is on a quest to eliminate single-use plastic. In its place, we offer beautiful, biodegradable and reusable crockery and cutlery plus an easy cleaning system that gets your gear sparkling and ready for your next tasty meal. We do all the hard yards for you, making it fun and easy to be eco-friendly.
Say No to Single-Use Plastic
In 2022, we took our commitment to eliminating waste a step further by banning single-use plastic. Elements Festival 2024 will push this initiative forward, with no single-use plastic water bottles allowed or sold on-site. Of course, we want you to stay healthy and hydrated! So we recommend bringing along a reusable water bottle and making use of the many free drinking water stations we have on-site.
Carbon Offsetting
Wherever possible, we strongly advise Carpooling as this is a great way to save money, spend time with awesome people, share driving responsibilities, and do a solid for the planet while you’re at it.
