Developed in Melbourne’s west but currently residing in the Gold Coast, artist, producer, and industry girl boss Xylo Aria combines R&B, experimental and ambient tones to create a captivating soundscape. Her music journey began while accompanying her grandmother to classical Indian carnatic singing classes at the age of five. Those early Indian influences still peek through her creations today with microtonal vocal melodies appearing regularly in her music.

“Indian Carnatic music, to me, is so beautiful and technical at the same time, and there is a tremendous skill required to master it, especially for vocalists. I want to introduce aspects of this music to the people in the Western world who may otherwise not comes across it by interweaving it into a more mainstream style of music”, says Xylo.

Xylo’s debut EP, Arrow, and subsequent single, Paradigm got significant coverage through media and described as “stunning” by Tonedeaf, “genius” by Girl Underground Music, and “hauntingly beautiful” by AAA Backstage.

In 2023, Xylo reveals her debut album “Dream” track by track in what she calls the ‘Dissected Album Project’. The first single Foreign Language was featured in numerous Spotify playlists including the Fresh Finds AU NZ Editorial playlist. Alien, her latest release has received significant coversage across community radio with ABC Radio Brisbane and PBS Radio in Melbourne inviting Xylo in for an interview about the track.
